I’m currently laid up in the bed watching content that makes me happy. Currently I’m watching the show Psych because it makes me laugh. I think that laughing is extremely important to healing. So I’m destined to keep the healing process going.
Since it’s been a few weeks, I thought I would share how my self care practice is going and share some new stuff I’ll be trying out.
Maca powder: So this is a new item that I just ordered. Maca powder is a superfood that has multiple benefits including enhancing energy and mood as well as improving female sexual health and balancing estrogen levels. I thought it would be a good idea to balance myself since hormonal birth control messes with your system. I’m going to add it to my smoothies and keep track of how I feel.
Black Seed Oil Capsules: Black seed oil was another item I wanted to explore. Apparently it’s good for weight loss which is an added bonus, but my main reason for using it is to help with hair loss. My edges have always been a little thin since getting relaxers all through high school, but I’ve noticed it more since I locked my hair the first time. While it’s not noticable to most people, it bothers me. So this is another item I’m going to try out.
Mother’s Who Can’t Love: I saw this book on Amazon and decide it would be an interesting read. Seeing how issues with one of our parents can shape who we become in the future, made me want to explore my upbringing and how it shaped who I am today. I can definitely relate with certain women who shared their story in the book. I can’t wait to see how finishing this book will help me continue my journey.
Sacred Woman: Now this isn’t a new book to me. I’ve had it for about 4 years, but when my spiritual journey shifted away from Kemet aka Egypt, I put the book down. Since I started exploring my personal spiritual beliefs and exploring Hinduism, I noticed some major connections to Kemeticism. When I realized this, I picked some of my old books back up. This is one of them. I’m working on building my womb circle for healing online so I can have a few people to share the journey to womb wellness with.
More Water: This may seem somewhat silly, but I’m not the biggest plan of plain water. So I bought a pretty cup to encourage me to drink more water.
The Book of Tarot and Starchild Tarot: I’ve always loved the idea of Tarot and how the cards can help you to learn about yourself. I’ve been looking for a deck that inspires me and the art speaks to me. I found that in the Starchild deck and accompanying book by Danielle Noel. I’m still waiting for it to come in the mail, but I’ve been so drawn to the deck and the art within, I needed to tell you about it now.
Sketch book: If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have seen that I sketched my sacred portal aka my yoni. I told my boyfriend that I wanted a creative outlet to express myself. So on a recent trip to Target, I bought some colored pencils and a sketch book. I used to draw all the time in high school. I’m honestly not sure why I stopped. So it’s nice to have this book nearby to bring my ideas into existence.
Stretching: My whole journey is about healing and becoming my truest self. One of the things I’ve wanted to do for a while is get a second hole and stretch my earlobes. While I haven’t had my ears pierced a second time yet, I have started the process of stretching my ears.
I had tried the process to stretch my ears in the past but it’s not something I want to do myself. I would rather have a qualified piercer hold my hand and ears and help me versus following what I’m seeing on YouTube. I went to the same piercer that pierced my septum and had my consultation on my birthday. A week later she put 16g horseshoes in my ears. I only want to go to a size 6g or 4g because that’s when I can start wearing crystal plugs.
I’m so excited for crystal plugs!!! I would be able to have my crystals in my ears all the time. I can feel the healing now.
I think this sums up everything I’m using or adding to my journey. If you like these kinds of posts, let me know. Until then, peace.
